SUMMARY:Native American Tribal Genealogy
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\nJoin Genealogist Rick Fogarty to learn about Native American genealogy.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNative American Genealogy may seem complicated and limited in available records. However, the truth is that many records exist and are available at the touch of your fingers. Rick Fogarty will guide you through the history of tribal and governmental recordkeeping and where these records currently exist. He will provide context behind these records and give practical research tips to help take the mystery and myth out of tribal research in the U.S. Fogarty will also discuss the current state of DNA testing and its uses in tribal research. Whether you are actively researching a tribe or have curiosity about this unique area of research, there will be relevant information for genealogists and researchers of all scopes and skill levels.\nRick Fogarty ( https://www.apgen.org/users/rick-fogarty ) is a professional genealogist and lecturer in Hazlet, New Jersey. He is a third-generation genealogist with deep Oklahoma roots and a citizen of the Muscogee Creek Nation. He specializes in Native American tribal, adoption, and DNA and forensic genealogical research. He has attended the Boston University forensic genealogy course, the Forensic Genealogy Institute genetic genealogy course, Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy, and the Institute of Genealogy and Historical Research. He is a life member of the Association of Professional Genealogists. He is an instructor on Native American tribal genealogy for several institutes and lectures frequently on many genealogical topics.\n\n\n\n
